IT related equipment contains pollutants a lot of which are deemed hazardous, such as lead content in CRT monitors and batteries. Many companies offer to take away old computers but unless they have the correct accreditations you will run the risk of illegally disposing of your equipment. Equipment disposed of via non-accredited firms may end up anywhere in the world and could damage your name and reputation.

We have developed a business partnership with the world’s largest WEEE refiner Sims Recycling solutions to ensure that all equipment is handled in accordance with the following EU directives:-

• WEEE - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive
• RoHS - Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive

The European Commission has adopted these two proposals for the recovery of waste equipment and the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The proposed Directives are designed to tackle the fast increasing waste stream of electrical and electronic equipment and complements European Union measures on landfill and incineration of waste.
